Hi,

how can i have two sessions for one user.
ex:
i have two applications, a time system and a leave calendar on our intranet. both use sessions. when a session is destroyed on the one while the other one is running, the session is lost. is there a way to specify a different session name or save path for each application to use? i've read a bit about session.name and session.save_path but not entirely sure how this works.

any help will be appreciated.
thanx

This is not entirely sure, but i think you can't.

But, as i said, it's not entirely sure. you can try to setup sessions using your own functions to manage sessions with session_set_save_handler ("open", "close", "read", "write", "destroy", "gc");

and creating functions to manage them. I use this to keep sessions in Database instead of files. This way i can use sessions in systems with load-balance.

One way is defining a global var that says what is the program running and this module opens a different file.

I say this is theorical, not experimental. Anikin

i don't really need to destroy the session of the first app anyway. so i'll just leave the session hanging.

thanx for the info ######## CtN ########
