I ran into the classic 2GB .pst problem and have been able to recover a lot of my data.

In order to avoid this kind of thing in the future I was hoping to use multiple .pst files.

Can I use one for email, one for contacts, one for calendar etc? Or maybe one for email and one for everything else?

How would I do this?

Create the pst file in Outlook then drag and drop the items into it that you require.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

I tried that out and it seems to work.
Thanks for your help!

You could use the archive option in the file menu...

File > Archive... >

Select each folder you want to archive seperately and name them accordingly, i.e. Contacts.pst, calendar.pst

Just a suggestion.

It's just common sense, shame sense isn't common!
