I have been using the multiple event server version of 6.7.1 on Windows 2000 very succesfully. My only real problem was when an event server hung. How to decide which mercntsvns.exe process to kill after closing the eventserver (1 eventserver and 1 mercntsvns.exe process for each Event server) . This was solved by using windows utility PTREEG which identifies the orphan process.

However, with 8.0.1 using the multiple process system I have only one eventserverserv with lots of mercntsvns.exe associated with it so PTREEG doesn't help. How do I identify which of these is associated with a particular msl so that if that msl hangs I can kill the process without having to shut down all the processes?

Not possible afaik. In 8.0.1 you can have more than one .msl per process too.

Might be able to set up multiple management consoles to watch each process.

Hi Boca,
The problem is not in watching the .msls but which mercntsvns.exe to kill if the msl should hang up for any reason and this does happen.

Not possible at this time. Contact Support for enhancement request. Suggest having PID written to msl.txt file in the startup message and displayed someone in the Management Console. This will allow you to associate PID with .msl used.

Sorry Boca, I thought this was your suggestion of what to do. I'm regularly in contact with UK support thanks.

This has been raised as enhancement request (ec90927).
