Have a question about setting up multiple PRIs on a Magix. I've got a customer who wants 3 PRIs in the same trunk group on their Magix. My question is, when I set these up, should I set up each PRI's B Channels in a separate B Channel group and/or a separate pool or should I put them all in the same group and them all in the same pool (70)?

They are using all 3 for both inbound/outbound so there's no separation there and since they are all in the same trunk group their DIDs will point to all of them.

I would advise that you should at least place the lines for each PRI in a separate pool.

That way, if one T1 circuit should fail, you could easily determine which one it was.

Then you could busy it out and let the other two circuits take over until it is fixed.

Good point. What about B channel group though - should they all be in the same group or different groups?

I see nothing negative about doing it that way. I think I have seen one system programmed with 2 T1/PRI circuits programmed to the same B channel group, and it seemed to work just fine.

I would think the litmus test would be to see if the System allows you to do that, and create 2 pools from the lines so created. (I see no reason why it wouldn't.)

The programming of B channel Groups and Lines is a separate operation from programming the Lines and the Pools.

Have you already built/installed this system?
