Hi All

I have three queries that I need to include in this report. each of them has these parameters built in the query. 1) Employee # 2) Payrun Id # to Payrun ID #.....looks like this
Payrun ID SAL0304 uses the between funtion to get
Payrun ID 2 SAL0310 payroll run dates ranges
Employee ID 111111 prompts for three input boxes
In Crystal 8, I want to link these together so that I only have to input the two pay run id and the empl id in only once...right now i have to enter in twice because I added a second report to the main report. I haved linked with only one parameter among subreports but not multiple parameters. I am having problems linking them together. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated thanks Rich

You shouldn't get prompted more than once. This:

"right now i have to enter in twice because I added a second report to the main report"

isn't true.

Link the main reports parameters to the appropriate fields of the subreports, subreports don't need to have parameters, and shouldn't, unless that's the only instance of that parameter.

Just to clarify what -k is saying, you want to link the subreport parameters to the corresponding main report parameters.

Subreports WILL have parameters (that what you link to) but the parameters in the subreport don't have to generate prompts unless they are the only instance of that prompt. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

To further explain, you don't need parameters in the subreports at all, just link the main report parms to the fields in the subreport.

-k,

Sorry, what I was trying to clarify is that whenever you link a subreport you can either link to an existing parameter field or you can let CR create the parameter automatically. But, either way the linked subreport ends up with parameter fields. Saying that they don't need parameter fields could be misleading. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Thanks All After realizing what I was doing, I did try that and did work...and I have done this in the past...one of those days of having the programmers blues and was not clear thinking that day. again thanks for the help!!!
