We currently have 5 Servers all of which are currently running Terminal Server 4.0 Service Pack 6. Metaframe 1.8 is loaded on 4 of those and is scheduled to be loaded to the 5th very soon. My Tech Support counterparts would like to upgrade one of the servers to Windows 2000 Terminal Server. We will be running Citrix Load Balancing across these servers. Are there any problems with doing this seeing how there will be different OS running?

Thanks

No. ICA stands for Independent Computing Architecture, and load-balancing takes place across versions of Metaframe at the same level.

eg Metaframe 1.x will load-balance with other Metaframe 1.x servers, or MetaFrame XP servers in mixed mode. The underlying O/S (NT4 TSE or W2k) is irrelevant.

One thing to bear in mind, however, is that Metaframe on Windows 2000 (1.8a) takes preference over MF on TSE in Master Browser elections, unless you've set the W2k server to "Do not become Master Browser".

Be aware also that native mode Metaframe XP servers will not load-balance with 1.x.

I hope this helps
