Hi there!
I have a PC attached to LAN.
We have proxy to access the Internet from the LAN.
I have more than one wall 'socket' that connects to LAN.
I have been using one with this machine.
I wonder if I insert second NIC to the macine and use another wall socket to connect to LAN, evantually to Internet!!
Will that 'increase' browsing speed?
How do I configure OSes (Windows XP and RHL9 dualboot)...

I have a single LAN, no DHCP (static IPs), proxy for Internet.

As far as I searched, two NICs are fine, but how do I instruct browser or any

application accesing internet to use 'a perticular' LAN Connection?

Any idea would be helpful.

TIA.

Hi Nirav

To answer your question in a short order: No, not unless you have a way to do load sharing with your two cards. But even then, your workstation doesn't generate enough traffic for that i'm sure. Even if it would, are you sure that is where the bottleneck is? My guess is no, it's not.

The only way you may increase browsing speed is to increase the bandwidth of your link to the Internet.

Thanks.
But anyway, it's possible, isn't it?
Than in that case how do I specify for app to use 'xyz' LAN Connection?

Regards,
Nirav
