IS-IT--Management
We have an old NT 4.0 domain for our Exchange 5.5 environment and on reviewing the event log have noticed multiple (sometimes 4 per second) errors from NetBT (ID 4319). Out main network is a Novell 5.1 environment, so users only connect to the NT domain for email.
The error is...
A duplicate name has been detected on the TCP network. The IP address of the machine that sent the message is in the data. Use nbtstat -n in a command window to see which name is in the Conflict state.
When reviewing the IP contained in the Hex Data is varies and lists multiple different addresses.
Does anyone know why we are getting this error? There are certainly no devices with the same name on the network. I wondered if this is linked to the HMDMAIL domain we are using? Running nbtstat -n returns...

Any and all advice is much welcomed as I'm sure this many errors is slowing the machine down.
