Multiple MOH and Calling Groups 1

Magix 4.0 (& 3.0 I think) have the ability to have Both SYSTEM & Group Call MOH.

What release do you have?

I have an r4. I have 1 MOH installed for the system, and 1 Installed just for calling groups. The 2nd MOH works on all Calling groups. It is all or nothing as far as the groups are concerned.

Well, The RELEASE 3 Fea Ref says this:

Group Calling Music-On-Hold

In Release 3.0 and later systems, a loop-start line/trunk jack can be assigned as a Group Calling Music-On-Hold port. A music source or recorded announcement device can be connected to the assigned Group Calling Music-On-Hold port to provide the audible feedback for the following:

* Outside calls that were DIRECTED to a Calling Group that has a Delay Announcement. Group Calling Music-On-Hold is heard after the Delay Announcement has been played while the caller is waiting in queue.
* Outside calls TRANSFERRED into a Group Calling queue. Group Calling Music-On-Hold is heard before and after the Delay Announcement (when available) plays.
* Outside calls to the Calling Group where the call was ringing at a Calling Group member, who refused the call (via time-out) and the call is back in queue.

Calls that were ANSWERED by a Calling Group member and placed on either Hold, or Hold-for-Transfer/Conference hear music or recorded announcements provided by a source connected to the System Music-On-Hold port. (NOT WRITTEN, BUT THIS MEANS CALLS OTHER THAN THOSE DIRECTED TO THE CALLING GROUP)

If there is a Group Calling Music-On-Hold port assigned, but no System Music-On-Hold port assigned, the Group Calling Music-On-Hold source is used only for the above listed items.

If the Group Calling Music-On-Hold port is not assigned, Music-On-Hold is provided by the source connected to the System Music On Hold port (the source used for Release 2.2 and earlier systems.). If there is no System or Group Calling Music-On-Hold port assigned, the caller hears special ringback.

Based on this info, it seems that if you had NO SYSTEM MUSIC ON HOLD, and ONLY GROUP CALL MUSIC ON HOLD, you could make it do what you are wanting.

Hmm. I remember why I asked the question, eventhough I had already had read this information in the Feature Reference. We have the phone system in DLC mode. So ... I was not sure if it still work. In addition, it seems that there is no way to specify which calling group uses the MOH. Is there any way to trick the system?

Or maybe Is there any way that I can setup a calling Group to hear the MOH instead of ringing while it rings internally? I have 20 secs waiting before it overflows to an AA.

I have setup some system were the customer wants different music or different ads running throughout their system. So I installed line Segregators - these give you 6 trunks in and 6 trunks out - with 3 different audio sources that you select thu jumpers.
