I want to install multiple modems in a windows 2000 PC. I started by adding the first one, and things work great. Then I shut down the PC, and added modem #2 to the PC (exact same manfacturer and modem model), and ran into problems right away. For some reason in windows it just started receiving lots of errors (just on that specific device) on just the 2nd modem in the hardware profile. It also won't let the first modem work at all, it just acts dead. Whats the trick to installing multiple modems in windows 2000? I really want to install 6 of them in the one PC.
(Incase you think I'm crazy, I'm trying to get a custom voicemail box to work with a telephone system, and it uses voice modems to input and output the various messages. One modem = one voicemail port, but without being able to install more than one modem the box is pretty worthless sine the system would only be able to handle one telephone call at a time).
Would appreciate any help! Thanks in advance!
