I have a customer that has a 3300 and ME that also wants 2 lines on there phone. If the main line is busy, then they want the second line to ring. Problem is ME will not let the main line be a multicall. We tried using the 1st altern to ring the second line and sec to voicemail, but that breaks ME (they want some calls to go to the local VM and others the VM on the cell phone).

Right now we have 2 ext programed on the phone. On the set it is setup the forward to the second ext is the main line is busy. Is there a better way?

Forwarding to the second line is the only way that has been proven to work. As you've discovered, when the second line is ringing, the cell phone is not.

About the only way I can think to get around this would be to set up Busy forwarding on the prime DN to the second line.

Thats what I have done. The other thought was an ugly one. Do a hunt group with the main number as the lead and 2 separate extensions on the phone as the members.

introducing hunt groups gets confusing when integrating with VM. Stick to forwarding if you must.

In our office we use everyone's YA to do this. If you have an office of more than 50 people that many reroutes could make the call reroute form pretty ugly and confusing.
