Multiple lines in Text fields - Cry for Help!!!

Absolutely must have multiple lines in text fields.
Ideally, I'd like to have "Notes" multiple lines shown or at least exported into excel file. Notes is RTF format but I can't make it show or get exported in it's enirety.
Secon to best would be to have custom text field containing multiple lines.
