Hello All,
This is regarding a problem we are observing on Mercator Version: 6.7(306_2_EM)
Event servers, we have 5 event servers installations running on HP UNIX box.
The following problem is being observed from quite sometime.
For few of the event server instances we observe that more than one Java process exists. The event server for which it is observed works normally even after this, till now we have not observed a crash due to this or any problem in data processing.
merc3 12374 1 0 10:16:32 ? 0:07 /opt/java1.3.1.12/jre/bin/../bin/PA_RISC/native_thre
merc3 12560 12374 0 10:16:34 ? 6:59 /opt/mercator_p/instance3/bin/launcher /merccesar/sy
merc3 20296 20272 0 10:12:19 ? 0:04 /opt/java1.3.1.12/jre/bin/../bin/PA_RISC2.0/native_t
merc4 12445 1 0 10:16:32 ? 0:08 /opt/java1.3.1.12/jre/bin/../bin/PA_RISC/native_thre
merc4 12561 12445 0 10:16:34 ? 18:50 /opt/mercator_p/instance4/bin/launcher /opt/mercator
merc4 20663 20645 0 10:12:36 ? 0:04 /opt/java1.3.1.12/jre/bin/../bin/PA_RISC2.0/native_t
However it has been observed that, whenever there are multiple Java processes for an event server exist.
1. The CPU utilization shown for the Java process of the event server instance is very high, it is as high as 95% sometime.
2. The event server instance does not get connected from management console.
3. The multiple processes disappear after the restart and also after restart the instances get connected from management console.
Request you to please inform if any one has faced a similar situation and if yes what are the possible causes are for the same.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Regards,
Sneha
