Hello!
I have a client that has 4 IPO 500v2 systems in a SCN configuration, at 4 different sites. We are wanting to move to an IPO Server Edition as they are quickly approaching the limits on the 500v2's. Has anyone ever done this before, and would you care to share your experience / tips? I am thinking a staged migration, where we replace the largest IPO with the SE (moving and tweaking config), and then move the users from the other systems in to the SCN in batches... BUT my challenge lies in the fact that SCN is not supported between 500v2 and SE... and that is where I am stuck. Any help is appreciated!

You can have a SIP trunk between the SE and the 500 that allows you calling but of course vm is still separate. I have a SIP trunk between my SE and an old SOE R4.2 and calling works well which is all I want.

If you migrate and have all IP phones then you could do a full migration by importing all users, groups and important stuff into the SE and then just re-register the phones.
If you have digital sets then you could leave all users on the sites and just use the server as brains but of course that is expensive as you need server licenses for each 500 chassis and that means you can join the 500's to the server and leave their programming the way it is when you join.

hope that helps
