Hi everyone,
At our school I've set up a squid proxy per computer room to control internet access with a green list type filter (the pupils can only get to sites that are specified), configured via a PHP page that the teachers use.
The workstations in each room all have their proxy settings set to point to their respective squid proxy server.
The problem is that I have now got a total of 9 old computers set up to do a job that one decent computer could do, and every time that we set up a new room I have to set up another workstation.
Is there any way of running multiple instances of squid that listen on different ports or IP addresses, so that I can have a different ACL for each IP address or port?
I could then set each room to point to a different IP address or port on this one computer.
Cheers in advance.
