When navigating via the web address toolbar on my desktop, I receive multiple instances of Internet Explorer on my XP Pro system. This issue does not occur when I navigate from within IE, and has only occured since my roommate initially installed the Opera Browser. I've already gone through the uninstall process for Opera as well as related woes from VM/Sun Java compiler conflicts. Was having issues with a BHO as well, but resolved that issue with Spybot. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled IE6 SP1. Any ideas on what I might try, because it seems as though a reg hack is about the only other step available at this point?
