I am producing sheets of labels for a client, each sheet has 63 labels. Each label has a product description. I have made a template for the labels, and also a folder with each product saved to the label size (about 150 products). Each sheet varies with different products and different positions. I have started preparing the sheets by opening each product description then dragging and dropping into position, although this works it is very time consuming, opening each file then closing etc; I have tried opening the folder of products on my second monitor, then dragging to the document, but the image opens in its own box not in the document. I have hundreds of these to do and the way I am doing it at the moment will take me into retirement! If anyone knows a quicker or better way to approach this I would be very interested.

I would have thought that Photoshop is not the prog to perform this task. Photoshop is fantastic for image manipulation but not for the type of job you are doing.
There are numerous progs out there to create labels even good old MS Word can do it.
I would suggest you create a database of the products and a folder of corresponding pictures. Set up a template and do the equivalent of a mail merge to create your selected labels. This will allow you to easily, add and remove individual labels from the sheet and create as many sheets of labels as your client requires.
