I had a computer brought to me with ME. The person wanted XP Pro, which I installed. It ran great at my house and looked fantastic. When he brought it home and hooked it up, he is getting the splash screen just fine but when the computer goes into the desktop, he gets 4 instances overlapping each other. He has a NEC monitor. I think this is a monitor issue since it worked great at my house. But is there anything I can check for him when I go over tomorrow to look at it? Any help would be appreciated.

He has integrated video. The computer is a compaq 4000. The video is Savage 3 (I know it is a savage but not sure of the number).

Savage... yuck! It has to be a refresh issue. The only other option would be that XP thinks his monitor is something other than it is and is assigning the wrong drivers. Try the roll back thing as a lat option but that's all I can say without being there. lol

Thanks for your input kylebellamy. The monitor was an old one. It turns out that I had to enable VGA mode in the advanced options. Once I did that everything was fine.
