Multiple IE windows 1

I have Windows XP Media Center at home.
A few times a week, if I click on some link within the browser, I start to get multiple windows opening. They will continue to open until I go to Task Mgr and select them all and stop them.
Has anyone seen this or have a fix? I see no viruses and PC is up to date.

I have seen this problem before and bcastner has the right answer. In my situation it was the CWShredder spyware. I ran the remove and it cleared a good bit of the problem. After that I ran Spybot and it fixed the rest of my problem.
