Hi everyone

I have XP Pro SP2 and, until about a week ago, could have two instances of IE6 open and log into separate Hotmail accounts with each IE6. These were open simultaneously.

For some reason, this stopped working (no software installation/upgrades, registry tweaks, AV fully up to date, no malware, cookies and TIFs cleared religiously at least once a week etc.) and, when I tried to log into account number 2, it told me that I was already logged into account number 1 so I should log out to switch accounts. At the same time, my router started to play up (it wouldn't connect wirelessly) so I reset my router which meant that I had to re-enter all of the router settings. My wireless router works fine now and I can also log into both Hotmail accounts simultaneously!

I am not sure if this is just a quirk on my laptop. If there are any others here who have multiple Hotmail accounts, can you try to log into each of them simultaneously from separate instances of IE6? I know that I could log out and switch accounts or I suspect that I could switch user at Windows level (and be logged into the separate accounts as different Windows users) but it's just *so* convenient to be able to have them open simultaneously from the same Windows user.

Obviously, the thing that's really triggered this post is "why did the behaviour suddenly change?". Was it related to the router problem or was that a coincidence? I may never know the answer, but it would be nice to know if the behaviour on my laptop is "normal" for Hotmail or a quirk!
