Hello Everyone,

Can I have to different forests in the same network address? and Would I be able to create trusts between the two forests?

Thanks in advance.

Rocket.

Yes. I would think so.

The problems you might run into include DHCP issues. But it can be done.

You can use CIDR in order to breakdown your subnet into smaller parts ie using a subnet mask that allows for fewer hosts thus allowing to have more networks using the same range of addresses (of course assuming you are not the mercy of your network folks), but otherwise it is possible to have multiple forest on the same subnet

Thanks for your quick response guys!

I have two sites with independent forests and appropriate trusts between the two. I have an exchange server that's servicing both forests. We need to install an exchange server on the forest that doesn't have an exchange and move the mailboxes from one server the new server. So I'm going to install the new exchange server This server will be on the other forest) on the same location where the current exchange server sits, that way the transfer is quicker. Then move the server to the other location. So I will not need dhcp address, they will all be static addresses.

I just hope it works, I guess will see.

Thanks again,

Rocket.
