I have a Dell Inspiron 4000 laptop, with Adaptec FireConnect Cardbus card (3 Firewire Ports). Connected to the Adaptec card, I have a Maxtor FW Ext. Hard Drive and a FW Ext. CDRW. These are OCHI (sp?) devices.
WIth the Hard Drive connected, The second FW Drive is sporadically recognized (Loaded) and, if it is, it will not stay loaded or can not read the CD, much less write to it.
I have installed SP3, since I read that it should fix the issue, but it has not fixed the problem.
As far as I can discern, is that there is a problem with the Adaptec card and Win2000 distributing a new LUN (I'm not sure what this is??). Since FireWire should be hot-swappable with up to 200+ devices, the controller is to add the LUN.
Any ideas?
