As described in the subject, it is possible to have multiple extensions re-route to the same mailbox? When messages are left, will both phones' main message lamp light up?

A more detailed description of what I am trying to do;

We have a 3300ICP, v8 UR5. Each user has a desk phone, and, of course, a mailbox associated to that desk phones' extension. These desk phones are either 5330's or 5340's, depending on the user. Soon they will be getting Nokia mobile devices that are SIP capable, as their mobile phone. Ideally, when a person's extension is called, we'd like both their desk phone and their SIP phone to ring simultaneously. Additionally, we'd like the SIP phone to be redirected to the desk phone's mailbox when the SIP phone dials the voicemail hunt group.

I know some of this has been described before, I apologize ahead of time. Thoughout my searching and reading through the FAQ's, I was not able to absorb enough information/understanding to make anything work. Please describe in dummy terms, I'm a real newbie with regards to Mitel. Thank you so much in advance!

My first thought was that this might work.
So I tested out this:
Programmed a SIP softphone - Xlite.
Added my a msg wtg key of my desk phone as a secondary key. - It let me.
Activated/deactivated msg wtg for SIP phone - Worked.
Activated/deactivated msg for my desk phone. Lamp did not show.

Bottom line is, you can put a msg waiting key of the desk phone on the SIP phone but can't guarantee it will show.

What I would recommend:

Install the Application Mobile extension.

or

Upgrade to MCD4 (series X) and implement personal ring groups.

Both will accomplish your primary goal.
Im not as certain on the secondary goal (login from remote)

Uncle Ralph:

I tried to set up an MWI set key assignment on the SIP phone, but the phone does not indicate a message is waiting. I know this might be an issue with the Nokia device and not the Mitel setup, but all other thoughts are welcome. In case it matters, the device is a Nokia E71 running Symbian S60.

KwbMitel:

We have Mobile Extension set up, but there are additional licensing costs (on top of the user licensing) that we're trying to avoid.

Does the 3300ICP not have personal ring groups? What is the MCD4? I've not heard of it.

Update: I've been able to make the SIP phone ring by setting a Multicall key assignment on the SIP phone, which points to the desk phone. This works enough to be usable.

Only thing we need now is both devices to point to mailbox, and have both devices & their lamps light up when a message is waiting. Thanks for the help thus far!

MCD4 is Release 10. Personal Rings groups are a new feature in this release.

One quick suggestion, with 'advanced voicemail' which used to cost, but doesn't any more, you can have voicemail messages, automatically emailed (and I guess the Nokia's can do email too)

eg, the emails could be accessed on desktop PC, or via the Nokia

(if necessary, more than one voicemail box's messages, could be emailed to the same email address)

Just in case that is an option instead of having the MWI indicate on both desk phone and the Nokia, for the same mailbox

Fissure:

Brilliant thinking! We have this set up for our office staff, and I've got the Nokia connected to the our Exchange (Mail 4 Exchange doesn't see subfolders, but that's another issue), so if the user sees an email, he'll know he has a new voicemail!

Currently, the SIP phones would need to dial the Voicemail Hunt Group, and enter the mailbox number (we aren't setting up a mailbox for the SIP user, as we want them only to have the one mailbox associated with their desk phone). Is there a way to program in Mitel a path that goes directly to a specified mailbox? I'll reiterate that I've read the FAQ's, and they seem to indicate this is possible, but they aren't very clear for the unknowledgable admin!
