I have one Exchange server that is successfully backing up.

We now have 2 more that they are setting up as a cluster. I believe I need to setup a mailbox on each one of these servers. Can they start with the same 3 letters? Like dbaexch1, dbaexch2, and dbaexch3? I'm thinking the alias thing says that the first 3 characters have to be different, however, if the mailboxes are on the different servers, does that make a difference?

Thanks in advance (again),
Debi

Debi,

You need to have UNIQUE aliases....

THe Exchange agent looks up these names from the GAL, so it can pull up duplicates irrespective of the server on which the mailbox resides.

U need to have user accounts with two mailboxes one on each server...
