Good Day

I have a server with 3 ethernet ports on it. ETH0 and ETH1 on the same subnet, eth2 is on a different subnet. When I have them all connected everything seems to work file. If I do ifconfig eth2 down I loose contact with the ip on eth2, when I do ifconfig eth2 up it's back on line. If I do ifconfig eth0 down or ifconfig eth1 down I loose connection to the entire server.
Any idea why this would happen?

Thanks for your time

What does your /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf look like?
