Multiple errors after install of IE6 on NT4 sp6a box

We have the following errors come up after rebooting and IE6 is being configured:

1) Unable to find the function "DllRegisterServer in the file "C:\WINNT\System32\comcat.dll"
2) An error has occurred while setting up "C:\WINNT\System32\asctrls.ocx".
3) An error has occurred while setting up.

The reason they upgraded to IE6 was that adobe acrobat was not opening in the IE browser. It was opening via Netscape.
