My netcnfg is like this...(On client.)

SYMAPI_SERVER - TCPIP - <IPADDR_a> 2707
SYMAPI_SERVER - TCPIP - <IPADDR_b> 2707

If I do
my_workstation#symapisrv -background -start -address <IPADDR_b> -port 2707

It start the server but when I do symcfg list I still get info from <IPADDR_a> ecc server. !

I tried few things but symapisrv only looks at the first line in netcnfg file.

Any idea ?

I evern tried diff service name and node name. same results.

Thanks.

Can I ask what you're trying to achieve?

I'm assuming UNIX based on your commands.

I'll try to help if you'll give a little more info.

Thanks for the response.

What I am trying to do is run a symcfg list command from my workstation where I have installed WideSky 5.2 and communicate at port 2707 of the ECC host to get the info.
By doing this...
1. You do not have to login every time to get info regading any specific frame connected to that ECC host.

2. You can develop monitering of the frames from your workstation.

and many more advantage...

Thanks.

Any one ????? Please let me know if you need more info...also please let me know anything you know abt this file or the configurations....I hope I did not raise the good question.

Thanks.
Vimal.

CORRECTION TO THE PRIVIOUS POST. SORRY ABOUT THAT.
I hope I did not raise the bad/incorrect question.

So you have 2 ECC servers then?

What shows when you run "symcfg -services list"?

I hope you recognize the security risks and will use the proper files to block access.
