Hi,

I am using CRXI and have built a report which links to a spread sheet. the report is based on sales against targets.

the sales are being taken from a table in a DB2 system, and the budgets/targets are being taken from a spreadsheet.

this is what I'd like GROUPED on PRODUCT, only interested in the TOTALS (I supress the details):

fields: Product, Date, Number Sold, Budget, Variance,
details:
Product1, 01/01/2008, 5, 50, -45
Product1, 01/01/2008, 10, 50, -40
Product1, 01/01/2008, 20, 50, -30
Product1, 01/01/2008, 20, 50, -30
Total:
Product1, 01/01/2008, 55, 50, 5

but what is happening:
details:
Product1, 01/01/2008, 5, 50, -45
Product1, 01/01/2008, 10, 50, -40
Product1, 01/01/2008, 20, 50, -30
Product1, 01/01/2008, 20, 50, -30
Total:
Product1, 01/01/2008, 55, 200, -145

As you see the TOTALS are not right. Any ideas? I have tried counting the number of lines and dividing the total which is too high by this. but cant get this to work :-(

hope i have explained this ok.

thanks Paul

If you want 50 for your second column, use Maximum rather than Sum.

You can then write a formula field to subtract the maximum from your other total, I assume this is what you intend.

Sorry, I can not get this to work. let me try and explain better:

Group 1: Product 1
50
50
50

Group 2: Product 2
100
100
100

I want to supress the details above and have:

Group 1: Product 1- 50
Group 2: Product 2- 100
Total: 150

BUT... my sums add up the details even when I supress, so with the above I would get the following wrong answer:

Group 1: Product 1- 50
Group 2: Product 2- 100
Total: 450

You can insert a running total for the grand total where you sum te budget on change of group: Product#, reset never. Place the running total in the report footer.

Well here goes it. I am using visual studio 2005. I have been unable to find instructions on how to load crystal reports to be able run on the web.

lonnie58,

Please start a new thread. See the link at the top of the main page of the forum.
