I am running Exchange 2000 with an Outlook client. Many of my users have email addresses from different domains that tie to their single active directory account. One of the addresses is specified as the default email address. Can this address be overridden in MS Outlook 2000 and above? I have tried to use the from box, but when entering a secondary SMTP address, I am getting an error saying that I do not have permission to send on behalf of the specified user. Since this user is really the same AD account, how do you specifiy the send on behalf of permissions?

If you have multiple addresses for the same user, only the default one will be use for sending.
You cannot give permissions to yourself, because you already have them, that's why you get that error.

If it is a real need to send from seperate SMTP addresses, you will need to create a seperate account.
