I must add a Windows 2000 server w/Citrix to my current NT 4.0 only network. I currently have a NT 4.0 w/ Citrix server on our domain. If I add the Windows 2000 server to its own domain (to avoid any problems with my existing PDC)can I still use license pooling. Will pooling work across domains when one domain is Windows 2000 server and the other NT 4.0?

Help

Windows 2000 will work just fine with TSE\MetaFrame, including load balancing and license pooling. Just keep in mind that the Win2K server is probably going to be your Master ICA Browser by election. This probably won't be an issue - just be aware...

Is there any reason (other then fright)to place this new win 2k server on its own domain. I have heard stories that you should not introduce a win 2k server to your network without first upgrading your PDC. My reason for the second domain is because I'm not ready to upgrade my PDC.

If it were me, I'd put the new Win2K server on my existing domain. Win2K will run in what is called "mixed mode" and will play nice with the NT4 domain. That, plus having them on the same domain will save you a bunch ofd administrative overhead...

Enjoy! :) Bill
