We are in the "Thinking" phase of how best to deploy reports to our outside partners using the Internet.
We currently use Windows AD, on a single server, within our org using our domain as the default. We want to create a second domain to allow our outside partners to gain access to reports using the Internet.
Hi,
Are you going to create AD accounts for those users?
The AD authentication process in BOE seems to allow for multiple domains ( with one designated as 'Default' ) as long as the AD Administrative account has full access to all needed domains..

That is exactly what we are looking at doing. Each outside user will have their own domain account. I am assuming that when they log on, since they will not be part of the default domain, they will need to type something like "Domain Name"\Username
Hi,
Not sure about thast..Once included in the authorized users, BOE's CMS should 'know' what domain to check then against...Never tried, however, so a test would be in order before training your external users..
Are you using a firewall for external access restriction? If so, there are lots of implications for BOE's services and the CMS.

We tried this with an external client - but couldn't use the BOBJ WinAD authentication for the users who were on another DOMAIN, because the two DOMAINs were in a different WinAD "forest".
You should confirm your specific technical needs/set-up with BOBJ Support.
