Hi folks

I work for a web design company that has a content management package.

We have a client who currently has 2 domain names and soon will have a third domain name.

Currently 1 site resides within the other :

is the parent.

resides within - when entering this URL we have IIS redirecting to
WE are soon to have a similar scenario for
I feel that this setup would harm the potential site rankings for and and as these are the main focus of the business my gut reaction is that they should be loaded as individual sites.

Can anyone enlighten me / confirm my suspicions ??

Thanks in advance.

just checked with WebBug. the way it is being done is almost safe, But the redirect is using a Temporary Redirect which sends a HTTP response of 302 (Found). This should be changed to a 301 response (Moved Permanently) for the redirected hostname(s) and it should be no trouble at all.

Hey Chris

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll investigate options re http responses to see if it can be changed - if so client will be happy as they won't have to buy additional sites.

Thanks again - star to you.
