Hey guys, I hope you can help me with this problem. I have a project in which the customer has ordered several identical products. The trouble is they want their delivery staggered in a specific format, e.g. 2 in Jan, 2 in Feb, and 1 in March. I do not want to make separate lines for each delivery, as all my other procurement requirements are due by the first delivery. I would like to make it just several blocks on my schedule and was wondering if there was a simple way to do this. At this point I'm afraid I'm going to have to use seperate lines, which is going to get rather confusing with the amount of predecessors I am going to have. Anyways, Thank you all for your help.

(second attempt to post)

View > Gantt
Create your task and give it 3 days duration (because you're expecting 3 shipments).
RightMouseButton on the bar in the Gantt chart area
In the popup menu, click on "Split task"
Place your cursor at approximately the end of the first day on the bar, press and hold the LeftMouseButton, drag the righthand portion of the bar to the right until it is at the second date.

Lather, rinse, repeat (on the portion at the second date to create a task at the third date).

You can do it this way; you shouldn't. You can't, for example, use predecessor/successor links to the middle portion of the task.

You're really talking about 3 separate tasks/deliverables/milestones so you should really have 3 separate tasks.

Ok great, I've done this procedure before, but have since forgotten how. I will have to check and see if the predecessor/successor issue will be something to consider, but I'm hoping it won't be as all predecessors are due before the first delivery. Thank you for your information!
