Hello all,

I have a report that is developed in Crystal Reports v 10.0. This report uses 2 data sources. The first data source is an Oracle DB and the second data source is a MS Excel WorkSheet. The numbers on the report look fine until I pull in one of the columns from the Excel worksheet - as soon as I do that, the numbers on the report get multiplied 4 times. What could be the problem. Please let me know if you need more info. The tables and the excel sheet are not currently linked.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks !

I gather what you mean is that summaries of some value increase.

The actual Oracle data doesn't magically change.

What is probably happening is called row inflation.

There are numerous rows that join to the Oracle table, so you're getting four rows in the caase you mentioned.

You shouldpost the data being returnedtothe report, and the required output as a result.

Desired report output should like this:
Current Year Prior Year

Expense Category Curr Mnth YTD Curr Mnth YTD

Air -28.60 410.70
Car Rental 170.73 1498.82 562.06
....so on..

Total 7935.18 143,708.56 17270.45 122,917.33

Corp Air Travel 1938.59

As soon as I add the column from the excel worksheet, which is the amount next to Corp Air Travel, all the summaries on the report get multiplied 4 times. You are right about the numbers being summaries. Please let me know if I need to provide more info. Thanks for your help.

Could you use a subreport to just show the single value from the excel file, with the main report showing the remaining values?

Hi paulkeys,

That is what I ended up doing. Thank you though for your suggestion !
