Multiple Copies of a PDF doc NOT COLLATING

Hello

We print course materials with large amounts of pages, these have recently been converted into complete PDF files.

Now, when we try to print multilple copies of these PDF files to our HP Laserjet 5si Mopier, the print doens not come out collated. eg. if we print 3 copies of a PDf, it will print 3 of the first page, then 3 of the second page, 3 of the third page etc etc. which is a massive ball ache considering there are well over 200 pages.

THIS IS NOT AS A RESULT OF SWITCHING OFF THE COLLATE OPTION WHEN SENDING THE PRINT - I assumed that this was the case initially.

If we send 3 seperate copies of the file it all prints fine ( i.e. do File>Print 3 times.)

Someone told me that you are apparantly un-able to collate prints of multiple copies of a PDF file. Full Stop. Surely this cant be true!

Is it maybe an error on my Mopier??

Any advice?
