Hi,

I have two laptops linked with a switch and they are both connected to The internet through WLAN as well.

I've setup an Ubuntu VM as DHCP because I couldn't get the LAN to be a trusted network for both computers (since the one serving as ISC didn't detect a DHCP)

In case of normal connections (without the Home Group) the metric would make windows choose the fastest connection, I understood from another post.

Is this still true for the Home Group ?

Actually, I probably have the server misconfigured.

Strange though, when I ping the windows machine with it's name I get a response from the correct IP address, but when I copied the same file with the computername in the path replaced by it's ip-address the speed clearly indicated that the data was transfer over the LAN in the second case.
