multiple companies - different functional currency

In Accpac 5.5 can I have multiple companies with different functional currencies using the same sytem database?
I think the answer is no but just making sure.

Reason I ask is that I'm trying to consolidate multiple companies on different servers onto 1 server with 1 system database.
All these companies have different functional currencies.

What is the reson than for having a system database?
What is stored in there?

The system database is for common things like user security. Some Accpac consultants erroneously create one system database per company, it's not necessary.
