Hi All,

Does anybody know of a way to be prompted for a parameter but be able to choose from multiple 'pick lists'? I have a field that contains various city locations which I would like to define also as regions (ie, North America, Europe, Asia). This way when the report is run and the user is prompted what I would like to happen is to have a choice of either the defined regions or the individual cities.

Any help would be appreciated,
NGonz

The parameter feature built into CR won't allow this. You could create two separate parameters and then write a formula to get the appropriate result. Otherwise you would have to write your own front end program. Ken Hamady

Thanks Ken for the input. However, I'm not sure I'm exactly sure I understand where your coming from. Could you possibly elaborate?

What I think I hear is that I would have multiple parameters (for cities/regions- Parameter 1 let's say) and then another parameter(2) listing the named parameters(1)? And then based on what was picked, have a formula filter the data based on parameter 1?

Thanks in advance,
NGonz

One parameter would be regions, the other would be cities. These won't be cities within the region selected, however. For that you would need a front end.

The formula would simply notice which parameter they used. Ken Hamady
