multiple call forwards from one extension

Hi everyone,

Curious if this is at all possible without some custom work being done. A call comes in to ext. 3500, that call is then forwarded to 3501 after 3 rings and no answer. Piece of cake. Now, is there a way that the same call can then be forwarded from 3501 to a cell # if not answered at 3501? Is that feasible via callmanager or would it require additional code?

Hi,

I'd imagine the easiest way of achieving this is to configure a call forward on the second extension pointing to the cell phone, through CCMAdmin > Device > Extension. Alternatively configure a hunt group and pilot with the various numbers you wish to ring.

Thank you for the reply. I definitely left out some vital info. 3501 in this case would be our receptionist/main line which would make it a little more difficult, would the hunt group and pilot still work in this case?

Now that I think about it, the receptionist phone (3501) is a 7960 with an available line left, I could add 3500 as a shared line and just forward it that way. I'm thinking out loud but do you see any issues with going that route?

Sounds like a hunt group would be your best option, it would try the next number in the hunt list if unanswered by the receptionist....

The easiest way is just like you said put 3500 on a second button and CFNA it to the cell number. As long as the CSS on 3500 will allow you to forward off site you shouldn't have any problems.
