One thing in miss in InDesign is the ability to make multiple backups in an assigned directory. Is there any plug-in that can handle this?

Can you describe what other application did this in the past such that you now miss it in InDesign? Are you looking for a backup solution to make incremental saves of your document as you work on it?

Why is everyone in this forum responding to me as picklefish?

There was an application that I used for a while -- some DTP app, though I don't remember what it was now -- that, as a preference, allowed you to save previous versions automatically. IIRC, the way it worked is the current document was named whatever you'd called it, and in the same directory you'd find DocumentName.1, DocumentName.2, etc., through 10 or so (again, a preference).

It was quite handy, as you could usually go back in time a fair bit if you'd discovered that you'd taken your document down the wrong path a while back, and you didn't have to be conscious of it ("I'll do a Save As here, just in case").

Anyone remember what app did that?

I've only used Quark up to 5, so I don't think it was that.

Yes, it was Quark I was thinking of. This came in handy after the occasional crash, or when I wanted to revert to work a few days old. It was automatic, too.
I wonder if there is anythingl ike this for InDesign.

T.T.

I am looking for the same plug-in (?), workaround (?). Anyone has found something?
