Hello! I've got a client w/ a small office that is home to two separate companies. Each company has their own server complete w/ Active Directory. One server runs SBS 2003 the other runs Win2k Server.

I'm trying to setup DHCP so that the respective clients receive the correct DNS server settings to authenticate to their respective servers. Anyone know of an easy way to do this without hard coding the DNS settings on the client workstations?

The clients use laptops as they travel occassionally, so it would be best if they didn't have to remember to manually reset their DNS settings to obtain automatically when they are on the road.

Thanks in advance!

You can look into using [google]dhcp class ID[/google]s. That should allow you to do that.

Change out your switches for one that supports VLANs and you can separate the networks that way.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Wow, I never considered a VLAN. Duh! On second thought, two cheap switches and a few Linksys routers would work also (they already have these.) Thanks!
