Has anyone found a multimedia keyboard where the audio controls keep working? I've tried 5 keyboards so far. Usually when I install a new keyboard, it will work properly until the first reboot! All the other functions keep working properly. It's just the "Volume Up", the "Volume Down", and "Mute" that fail. Normal Windows controls work OK, it is just the controls on the keyboard that quit. I've tried PS2, USB, and wireless - same thing! They work until the first reboot, and then no effect on the volume level!

64 bit Win 7

I have a Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard that seems to respond correctly to those controls. The truth is I never use them much myself but they work when I do.

Windows 7 drivers might be the problem you are seeing?

Microsoft Hardware support information for Windows 7.

Linney:
It is definitely Win drivers, as the units come with no install media, and depend on Win 7 finding drivers.

I just checked - the Windows driver is dated 6-21-2006! I will check with the manu. to see if they have an updated driver.

I have the "remote keyboard for XP, media center edition" and it works fine on windows 7

I contacted the manu, they don't even list this model of keyboard! I put in a "contact", but I don't really expect an answer. I found that this keyboard (Lexma), is made by Lexmark - and we know the history of their printers! I guess I'll just go down to Fry's, make a list of what keyboards they have, and contact their manus to see who has 64 bit drivers. I'll just give up on this one!

Found a solution! I down loaded and installed the 64 bit Microsoft ("Internet"keyboard). The drivers still show 2006 version, but the program makes the keyboard respond to everything. I had to change one button assignment, but the program allowed this. Being an M.S. program, the "Mail" button would open Outlook. I merely changed the assignment to "Thunderbird", and everything is fine (so far!).
