Greetings Everyone.

I openly admit that I am a newb here. I want to learn stuff. I really dont want to call our vendor for help because I cannot learn. So i was wondering, so i can do this I want to create what I was asking, But I basically need something to follow. Here is what I am looking for. I need to build a hunt group. I dont want this to go to a voicemail. I basically need it to keep ringing on 4 lines (its for a security team) It looks like a multiline hunt group might be it. It cannot go to a voicemail. I am running CS 1000 option61C.

We tried a ACD group but they did not do well with the changes. the DN's are 3411,3499,3502 and a fourth one that They are getting back to me on. Any information at all would be helpful or sugestions.

A hunt group will enable calls to ring on one extension at a time in the list that you have defined. If however, you have digital phones with buttons that are spare or not needed, then you might want to set up a MCR key on each of the 4 phones so that they all ring at the same time.

So I want to make sure I understand this right and that Im on the same page with you. My apologies if this sounds dumb. Now what If we have one dispatch and there are multiple calls that come in, she cant then answer the second one on that line with the MCR correct?she needs the abillity to pickup basically all lines. I hope this is making sence on what Im looking for.

An MCR key means Multi Call Ringing Key. If the 4 digital phones have MCR keys, then the second call coming in will start ringing on the other 3 remaining phones, until someone takes the call.

hmm, I see what your saying. Problem is I need the dispatcher to be able to answer on the same physical phone. By chance, would you have any other ideas on what could be done?

If you are wanting several keys on the same set you can use hunt - 000. This will hunt the calls up the keys...ie key0, then key 1, ect.ect. Also set the lhk setting to the last key that will need to be answered ie....the fourth key (#3) and set cls - hta.

Just thought of it, if you need the keys on 1 set, you can make them all the same MCR key number on several keys. You would not need hunting as all keys will ring, then once answered the next call will ring the other keys again, put the first call on hold, answer the next cal, ect,ect.

A MCR will work, but this seems to be overly complicating the programming.
Setting up multiple keys on (1) phone with multiple SCR key will also work.

The DNs that you listed (3411,3499,3502) are these DID? If so, are each one published and people call in directly on each one?
because now you're wasting your DIDs.

If for example (803) 123-3411 is the main number into your security team; I would set up Key-0 as SCR 3411, key-1 as 1411, key-2 as 2411 and key-3 as 4411;
with a LHK of 5. This will make incoming calls to key 0 hunt up.

Also, setting up each key as an MCR, if in the future you add another body to answer the phone, you CAN just place that MCR on another set; but this now causes another problem... If an MCR is shared on multiple sets, you can't tell when the lines are being used.

sorry for the late response. I've been working seems like non stop on a networking problem for the HVAC team. Rooms were up to 115 degrees after a power outage.How do i program a MCR? i've never done one. I can make changes no problems but creating MCR acd's i have no idea. I appreciate all of your support

also with just making 3411 on key 0, is it possible to make this ring without going to vm?

robakabobbo, if you do not want a call to go to voicemail then do not define a number at the fdn and hunt prompt on the users tn.
