I have six 7975s with 8 shared line appearances (they are identical clones of one another). Is it possible when the topmost line (the prime) is already in use that the second phone going off hook to place an outbound call could automatcally select the next line down the keystrip instead of stacking calls against the prime? IE to work in much the same way as an incoming hunt group does, except in the outbound direction?

The 8 line appearances are all in a common line group with an incoming hunt pilot. We don't have the luxury of using unique numbers on each phone as they want it configured like a square key system (old legacy telco term).

As I have it currently configured the phones have no problem each placing outbound calls, but these calls are all stacking up on the prime & it's confusing to the other users if one or more of the outbound calls is placed on hold.

Thanks in advance!!!

Not possible. The user has to look and if the line is busy, select a line that is not. Remember even though you are trying to emulate CO lines for the users these are simply DN's and nothing else.

Thanks. I didn't think so, but thought perhaps I'd missed something.
