Hi,

I want to run proxy server on a multihomed server. The internal NIC has already been set up.
The other NIC will be connected with a cable modem.
My problem is : I can't get a fixed IP. Will this be a problem ? Or can I just go ahead and install my proxy ?
Thanks
I have never tried it, but you should be able to set up a second NIC with IP 0.0.0.0 and enable routing. Then attach your modem and configure that from the proxy.

It is essentially the same setup as standard only you are going to get a DHCP address from the Internet for the new NIC. The problem will be if you have a local DHCP server as well.

What I meant was
The second NIC will be DHCP assigned by the ISP
By the way : making your proxy server a router (by enabling IP forwarding) is very dangerous and NOT secure...
I'll just let proxy handle my web sock requests...
Regards
