Hi,

We have two VLANs in the Extreme switch. We are running Multicast feed which runs on Linux on one VLAN and we are trying to recevie the packets from the second VLAN.But we are not at all getting any feed in second feed.

We have enabled IGMP,Multicast forwarding and Ipforwarding but no luck. Anyone help on this?

You have to run a multicast routing protocol of some kind for this to work. I would suggest PIM-DM, just to keep your configuration simple. IGMP Is only used for registering receivers to the L3 interface. Multicast forwarding simply controls whether or not a VLAN will be allowed to forward multicast traffic. Without some sort of multicast routing protocol you are not going to get anywhere.

I know exactly what you are thinking, but multicast does not work like static and directly attached IPv4 routing. Two different animals all together. You have to run a multicast routing protocol.
