Hi,
We have multiple VLANs and are utilising a Ghost Server (well, trying to). When the ghost server is on the same VLAN the PXE loader works correctly, however, when the ghost server is on a different VLAN from the ghosting machines, then the TFTP fails with Error 32. Now, here are some facts first:-
1: The ghost server does NOT have a static address but is also DHCP's
2: Traceroute works between the PC and the ghost server (indicating comms between the VLANs)
3: Core switches handle the routing
4: Broadcast and multicast flooding is enabled on the VLANs
Just because Multicast and broadcast flooding is enabled I am not sure that the Ghostserver broadcast traffic is going across the VLANs.
Would it help if the Ghost server had a permanent address and then I added a helper address to the core systems (Switches) using the:-
configure bootprelay add <ip address of ghost server>?
Cheers
