I think im cracking up!!!

I have a multicall on 5 phones, this has a first alt re-route to voicemail.
Voicemail box created with same number as multicall to take messages.

This all works great, however whenever a voicemail is left the MWI lights on 1 phone that has one of the multicall keys.
The question I have is how do you determine which MWI lights?

THe only thing I can see is the MWI that is lighting is that of member 1 in the multicall group... is this how it works?
I need to change this so a different member of the multicall groups mwi lights when a vm is left.

3300 mxe rel 8 ur 5 thanks

You need to program a MWI key against the multicall DN on the phone you want to light.

If a MWI is issued against a multicall that does not have a MWI key in the system it will light either the phone that was first programmed with the key OR the phone with the lowest extension number. The difference is determined by whether the system has been upgraded since being programmed. (After upgrade it will be the lowest extension regardless)

i never knew that and as far as I can see this isnt covered in the documentation...thank you for the response

It gets even more interesting when you have a huntgroup with members that are keylines on several phones as in this case you can't program a MWI key against the huntgroup.

Thanks for the star.

kwbMitel... You are right however you can program it to first alt to an acd path where it then hits a vm box. You can then add that boxes mwi to the phone. Pretty cool!

iheardrain: Yes there are several ways to configure the Hunt Group Scenario so that a MWI can be programmed. Yours is not the simplest. Check out this FAQ.

A quicker option to transfer a caller straight to a voicemail box without programming keys etc is to transfer caller to voicemail pilot number, press # then extension number and hang up immediately.

Voipin, although your information is accurate, I'm curious how you think it relates to this post. Nothing in this post is related to manually transfering calls.

Look in the FAQ you provided. If it doesn't relate don't include!

Voipin, bit touchy today. The FAQ is written to cover many scenarios. If you want to respond to the limits of the FAQ then do so on the FAQ page.
