After updating the OS using multibos, the bootlist by default is:

hdisk0 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk0 blv=hd5

as I have rootvg mirrored over hdisk0/hdisk1, should this be changed to:

hdisk0 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk1 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk0 blv=hd5
hdisk1 blv=hd5

or even just

hdisk0 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk1 blv=bos_hd5

??

TIA

hdisk0 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk1 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk0 blv=hd5
hdisk1 blv=hd5

will work but in case of for example lossing any of your mirrored disk (either hdisk0 or hdisk1) then it would be enough to boot into one of your multibos BLV from the other disk!

So this should work as well!

hdisk0 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk1 blv=bos_hd5

or

hdisk0 blv=hd5
hdisk1 blv=hd5

Khalid

IMHO According to this, you should only use the BLV that you wish to boot from in the bootlist:

Code:
The administrator can boot from either instance of BOS by specifying the respective BLV as an argument to the bootlist command or using system firmware boot operations.

So i don't think it is logical to use this any more:

hdisk0 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk1 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk0 blv=hd5
hdisk1 blv=hd5

Khalid

Thanks for your reply

hdisk0 blv=bos_hd5
hdisk1 blv=bos_hd5

would seem logical unless you wanted to boot back to the original blv

the default bootlist after using multibos did have me slightly confused though!!
