Good morning from Alabama. I have an Access 2003 database that will be accessed by multiple user at the same time. I need to be able to update 2 tables with only thier active records, but if I use an update query it is adding all the records in the table each time making duplicate records. Is there a way to update and delete only the active record for each user from the tables and query?

It isn't clear whether you want to "update 2 tables" or "adding...creating duplicate records". Update suggests you are editing existing records while appending is adding new records.

We don't have any idea what you are running that performs any actions (updating or inserting). You need to provide more information about your tables and how you want your system to work.

What do you mean by "active" record? That has no meaning in terms of an SQL UPDATE statement. The records that are affected are the ones that meet your criteria, i.e. everything after the WHERE keyword.

Posting your SQL Statement might make things clearer.
